The Mechanix Story Mechanix is the creation of two lifelong friends and collaborators: Alex “Switch” Carter and Maxine “Max” Reeves. Growing up in the heart of Bristol’s drum and bass scene, the duo found themselves drawn to the city’s rich musical heritage, where the likes of Roni Size and DJ Die pioneered the genre. Mechanix was born from their shared love for heavy basslines, intricate beats, and a passion for pushing the limits of sound.Alex “Switch” Carter brings technical expertise to the table, with his background in sound engineering and production. His love for crafting complex rhythms and unique soundscapes is the driving force behind Mechanix’s signature sound. Maxine “Max” Reeves is the energetic heart of the duo, known for her explosive DJ sets and crowd interaction. Her deep knowledge of drum and bass history, combined with an instinct for reading the room, ensures that every Mechanix show is a unique experience.
Debut EP: “ Circuit Breaker” (2022) – Mechanix’s first release that introduced their high-energy style, blending classic drum and bass with modern production techniques. Tracks like “Bassline Riot” and “Shockwave” have become crowd favorites. Follow-up EP: “System Overload” (2023) – The duo’s second release pushed boundaries further, experimenting with darker, more aggressive sound design. Tracks like “Fracture” and “Synthetic Dreams” showcase Mechanix’s evolution.
